Susan Johnson, MS, DVM

After receiving her Master’s degree in Reproductive Physiology and DVM degree from Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Johnson returned to her home state of Vermont to be closer to family. After working as both a large and small animal veterinarian for 17 years, she bought the Poultney Veterinary Hospital, where her practice is now limited to cats and dogs. She has a special interest in canine reproduction and enjoys working with dedicated dog breeders to maximize fertility. She loves getting to know her patients personally so she can customize their medical care to their lifestyles. Her professional affiliations include the American Veterinary Medical Association, Vermont Veterinary Medical Association, New Hampshire Veterinary Medical Association, the International Embryo Transfer Society and the Society for Theriogenology.


Julia Chant DVM at Poultney Veterinary Hospital, Poultney, Vermont

Julia Chant DVM

Julia earned her DVM degree from Ross University in 2003. Originally from Connecticut, she practiced for eight years in a large multi-doctor/multi-location practice where she served as both a general practitioner and accepted referrals for acupuncture. In 2016, Julia and her family moved to Vermont to pursue the opportunity to receive further training in Classical Chinese Medicine as well as have more continuity of care with patients and their families.

Starting full time in March 2020, Julia is excited to become part of the Poultney Veterinary Hospital team. Her special interests include internal medicine and dentistry. She is certified in acupuncture and veterinary spinal manipulation therapy and has advanced training in Chinese Herbal Medicine.


Tabatha Lyman, Poultney Veterinary Hospital, Poultney, VT

Tabatha Lyman

Tabatha has been with Poultney Veterinary Hospital since 2004. Since joining PVH she has filled many roles including kennel assistant, technician, office manager and overall “go to” person and really enjoys interacting with clients.

Between growing up in Poultney and working at Poultney Veterinary Hospital for so many years, she is familiar in one way or another with every person that comes through our door.


Cindy Williams, Poultney Veterinary Hospital, Poultney, VT

Cindy Williams

Cindy has been a veterinary assistant with Poultney Veterinary Hospital since 2012. Cindy enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of not only animals, but their owners as well. Cindy’s special interests in veterinary medicine include anesthesia, surgery and laser therapy.

She plans to expand her technical abilities by becoming Fear Free certified and receive her light/laser therapy certification. She enjoys spending time with her 2 children and her pets, which include 4 cats and 1 dog.


Amy Campbell, CVT, VTS (ECC)

Amy is a Certified Veterinary Technician with nearly 30 years experience working in small animal veterinary medicine. She obtained her Associate in Science, Veterinary Technology in 1998 from Becker College in Massachusetts. She worked in several large specialty hospitals in their emergency and critical care departments. In 2005 she became a member of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians/Nurses.

She joined the Poultney Vet team in 2017 after relocating to Vermont from Massachusetts.

When not at work Amy enjoys spending time at her Vermont home with her husband and pets on their produce farm.
